Do you need to store large amounts of data such as articles, audio, video or RSS feeds of a lot of content? These requirements will call for a CMS (content management system.) There a few really good ones out there Joomla!, Mambo, Drupal, XOOPS and others. Most of them run on a MySQL database on Linux servers. I prefer Linux servers to Microsoft, but that just my preference. Many of the CMS applications are open source.
